  1. I’ve been reading your posts for a while now, and as a nature-lover myself, I’ve really been enjoying them every day. This one takes the cake!

I love squirrels and at my last home in an urban area, I was constantly entertained by and engaged with a variety of greys, blacks, and reds. I wrote a few poems about them which are on my old blog, “Poetikat’s Invisible Keepsakes” and even filmed a short video of a baby black squirrel I called, “Tommy Boy” who came to my porch every day.

I’m in a new house on the edge of country village now; our garden is new and untreed, so I don’t get my fill of squirrel-action as I used to. Thank you for this!
Today is the 3rd anniversary of my father’s passing and this really brightened my spirits.

You might enjoy these old poems:

    1. Thanks for commenting, Kat, and I’m glad you liked this. Those poems of yours were fun! I’m always a sucker for well-turned light verse.

  2. Thanks, Dave. I should point out, that those were written some time ago, and they are not typical of my current work. My other blog is more in keeping with my mindset these days. That is not to say that I don’t enjoy writing or reading light verse; I do, in fact, greatly enjoy working with rhyme and form, but lately, I find short free or blank verse more satisfying.

    Thanks for reading!

    Kat
