Fresh excavations in the yard—a puzzle. Have the deer developed a taste for myrtle, the green of its leathery leaves under all that snow?

  1. Yes, the deer HAVE developed a taste for myrtle, A.K.A. periwinkle. Just videoed a doe digging it up and eating it. Well, they’re welcome to it — it’s a non-native invasive, descendents of cuttings my grandma tossed out there back in the 70s.
