I like your phoebes preceded ours by about a week, as if ours were yours, one week later. I like the information you give, which suggests that our phoebes have been north of both of us and are now returning. Whippoorwills are now back after, what, six weeks, two months absence, having gone north with their young I guess?
Yes, I heard another phoebe yesterday. they do seem to be moving through. Whipoorwills we only heard once all summer. They are pretty scarce around here anymore.
