Alas. En route to work this morning, carcass of a red fox on the westbound lane. And a newborn foal at the horse farm.
We figure this was the work of a great-horned owl, since it happened overnight, and taking the head off is kind of a bird-of-prey thing. OTOH it could’ve been a fox, coyote, fisher, bobcat — who knows.
