Such a cool bird. When I was hiking one spring, I saw two black-throated blue warblers on a branch and was enchanted. No sooner did I get a good look that they took off a a great-crested landed on the same branch. Before that moment I was mostly a raptor enthusiast, but I was converted to a songbird lover for life after that. I still love my hawks and falcons, but I’m so glad I branched out.
Great-cresteds are special. The latest issue of Birdwatchers’ Digest has a whole feature on them.
