Latticework below the porch has been pushed out, presumably by something that lives under the house. A pileated woodpecker’s mad laughter.

I love this. We have a pileated woodpecker (or several!) in the woods near our house. Listening to its heartbeat–rhythm is one of the pleasures of my day.
